That’s why we have developed the Aviation Training Centre Design Guide: Guidelines for Project Planning and Delivery. This essential resource outlines the questions and considerations in aviation training centre design. Everyone involved in the planning, design and construction will find this helpful. Just as the industry is always changing, this guide is not exhaustive and will continue to develop and expand over time. The guide is divided into four sections, covering everything from initial site selection to specific space requirements.

- Real Estate Considerations & Strategies
- Integrating Human Factors into the Design
- Design Communication Strategies
- Design Challenges & Program Requirements
As architects and designers, we're constantly looking for challenges and opportunities to learn. The aviation industry offers both. We’ve worked on a wide variety of aviation training projects with corporate training partners, simulator manufacturers, airline carriers, and within the defense and security industries, which has led to an in-depth understanding of many of the technical and non-technical issues relating to the specifics of aircrew, cabin crew, and maintenance training. Being able to translate our understanding of concepts like virtual training, integrated part task training, and distributive mission planning into a built form has opened the doors for new projects with passionate and engaging clientele.
Establishing new and updated aviation training centres is crucial to addressing the projected shortage of pilots and crew in the aviation industry. This living document serves as a guide to the key considerations involved in designing and planning an aviation training centre.
