Waskaganish Anglican Church

Waskaganish, QC

Year of construction
In progress
The small community of Waskaganish was built around an Anglican church on the banks of the Rupert River. As the community grew, the needs for the house of worship changed. The church was now in need of a new building that could house a multi-functional space that could be used for a variety of occasions for a different clientele, while maintaining the basic culture of a house of worship

Working with a committee of parishioners, Figurr Architects developed a plan that allowed for a sanctuary space on the ground floor and a multi-purpose room on the lower floor.

The sanctuary is flooded with natural light and is flexible enough to be able to be adapted to other faiths as the need arises.  The multi-purpose space is large enough for community gatherings and is equipped with a catering kitchen.
