More Than Architecture... It's Community

Community is at the core of who we are and what we stand for. Figurr is itself a community – a collective – dedicated to fostering connections and creating spaces that unite people. Our commitment to community shapes our approach to every project, ensuring that our designs reflect the unique needs and aspirations of the people we serve. It drives our efforts to engage with local partners, support educational initiatives, and create opportunities for collaboration and growth. Our dedication to these principles ensures that every space we create is a testament to the power of collective effort.

Simply put, it's community.

As we continue to shine a light on our 35th anniversary, read on as we explore the transformative power of community as it relates to all areas of our business and our five core values (below).

It's all about people – we believe in putting relationships first. Figurr thrives on the collaborative spirit of our relationships within the community, bringing together the talents and insights of people – from users, contractors, clients, team members, and local organizations.

We believe that everyone counts. Being part of the community means enriching the lives of those who live within it – it's where we all live, work, and play.

We believe that architecture is an essential filter through which we live. Figurr is committed to fostering community by leveraging our team's expertise, sharing insights through whitepapers, supporting women in STEM, welcoming students eager to learn and many more initiatives. Our recently established education fund, the Figurr Architects Cree Education Fund, encourages Indigenous youth to explore and pursue careers that support their local community.

Building a community takes consistent effort to make a meaningful impact. Whether that's building an internal community of passionate team members, a community of long-term clients, or contributing to our broader neighbourhoods and cities – consistently giving back - consistency builds trust.

As we celebrate 35 years this year, we're looking ahead to our next chapter. We are committed to reflecting on what community means and invite everyone to do the same. By questioning traditional notions and embracing innovative approaches, we aim to create spaces that enhance current needs and inspire future possibilities.
