With more than 2,000 stores around the world, international beauty products company L’Occitane en Provence takes great care in managing its brand image. Each time a new store is planned, local architects adapt a prototype, devised in France, to the various sites and cities where the company operates. Long experience has enabled Occitane’s designers to develop guidelines that take account of shopping centres’ requirements or cities’ zoning regulations.

In Canada, after first setting up shop in Toronto, L’Occitane now has more than 15 stores, from Halifax to Vancouver and including Montreal.

Since 2010, Figurr has been mandated to renovate existing stores and to establish new ones, whether in shopping centres, along shopping streets or inside large stores based on the “shop in shop” concept.

To keep worksites consistent, the architects also have to establish solid connections with local business people in each region where they operate. Renovation or design projects since 2010 have included stores on Laurier Avenue and Place Ville-Marie in Montreal as well as others on Yonge Street in Toronto, Lakeshore East Road in Oakville and Burrard Street in Vancouver.
